William "Bill" (Birchy) T. Birch

FRANKFORT – William “Bill” (Birchy) T. Birch, age 75, of Fourth Ave. Ext., Frankfort, passed away, on Friday, March 22, 2024.


He was born on December 28, 1948, in White Plains, NY, the son of Thomas William Birch and Nora Kathleen (Hudson) Birch and graduated from White Plains High School. Bill married Patricia “Patty” (Jaws) K. Olbrich, on St. Patrick’s Day, in 2012, at the Ilion Fish & Game Club. Mr. Birch was employed as a Machinist, at Bendix/United Technologies, of Utica/Rome, NY, retiring after many years of service. He loved hunting and fishing and competitive shooting. Bill was a member of the Board of Directors at the Ilion Fish & Game Club and belonged to numerous other gun clubs in the area.


Surviving family members include his Wife, Patricia “Patty” (Jaws); his sister, Kathy Buzby and her husband, Steve; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dave and Mary Olbrich, Gregg and Mary Olbrich, Laura Wedemeyer, Eric and Kim Olbrich, Barb Mezaki and Polly Morris (Patty’s Twin); and several nieces, nephews and cousins.


He was predeceased by his parents; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ron and Evie Olbrich; and his brother-in-law, Donnie Olbrich.


In keeping with Bill’s (Birchy’s) final wishes, there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled. However, family and friends are cordially invited to Bill’s Celebration of Life, to be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Ilion Fish & Game Club, 1276 Barringer Road, Ilion, NY.
