UTICA – Mr. William M. “Bill” Flagg, age 84, a lifelong Utica area resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, March 28, 2020 at the Charles T. Sitrin Health Care Center.

William was born on June 8, 1935, the son of the late Jules and Helen (Renwick) Flagg. He was raised and educated locally and attended Whitesboro schools.

On January 13, 1953, Bill proudly enlisted with the United States Navy, serving his country during the Korean War era. He received his honorable discharge on May 29, 1956.

On July 25, 1958, Bill was wed to the former Yvonne Moses, and together they shared in over sixty-one years in a blessed and devoted union.

Bill spent the majority of his career as a car salesman for various companies throughout the Mohawk Valley. Most would remember him from his over twenty years spent with Utica Chrysler Plymouth.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Yvonne; his children, Michael and Anne Flagg of New Hartford, Linda and Tim Morey of Utica, William M. Flagg of Frankfort and Denise and John Poteat of Horseheads, NY; his grandchildren, Michael and Laura Flagg, Jennifer Morey, William S. and Megan Flagg, David Morey, Jeffrey Flagg, Janaye Poteat and Cody Wall, Cara Flagg and Danielle and Steven Smith; his great-grandchildren, Camden, Carson and William; and his sister, Arlene Baldmier.

Besides for his parents, Bill was predeceased by his sister, Rose Flagg and his brother, Wayne Flagg.

In keeping with Bill’s wishes, his family will gather privately to bid their farewells and final interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro.
