William J. "Bill" Case Ii

ILION - Mr. William J. “Bill” Case, II, 85, of London Towers, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Rome Memorial Hospital.


He was born on March 5, 1939, in East Herkimer, New York, a son to William J. Case, I and Bertha (Lonis) Case.


William was predeceased in death by his parents, William and Bertha; a daughter, Lori Fresco; and great-granddaughter, Serenity Rose Case.


William (Bill) worked many jobs over the years but a few that have stuck out are Duofold’s, Spohn Disposal, and 5-4’s Taxi Company. He also was a maintenance man, a janitor, a cook and a bartender. He had a good friend, Don Skinner, who operated a local diner on Broad Street in Utica. (That was a dream of his – having his own restaurant.)


William (Bill) loved to play cards and drinking. He loved his wrestling, going to live wrestling matches when he was able to, then watching it on T.V. He also liked watching several game shows, westerns, crime and mystery shows on T.V.


William is survived by Mary Carr, his companion for almost 55 years; His Son, William J. Case III and his wife, Ruby Case; his daughter, Evie Njie and her husband, Babucarr Njie; and his son-in-law, Tony Fresco. He is also survived by his 13 grandkids, Christina (Sam) Jackson, John Sabatino, Anthony Sabatino, Vinny Fresco, Melissa (Chris Moore) Case, Charity Case, William Case IV, Timothy Case, Michael Case, Errick (Gabriella Baker) Case, Jeeleol (Savannah Baker) Case, Chalindre Bonaparte and Dellain Bonaparte; 13 great-grandkids, Tito Jackson, Tyrese Jackson, D’ana Jackson, Renezmaee Jackson, Niylah Sabatino, Alexander Fresco, Giovanni Fresco, Grayson Moore, Elaina Moore, Aniyah Case, Jeeleol Case, Harmony Case and Levi Case.


Funeral Services will be held at the Enea and Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, on 4309 Acme Road, in Ilion, NY, on Friday, March 29th. The family will see visitors from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon, then have a short service and prayer. Burial is yet to be determined.


Bill’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors.
