STRATFORD- Mr. William E. Amthor Jr. entered into eternal rest peacefully with his wife Theresa at his side on December 12, 2008 at Bassett Health Care, Cooperstown NY. He was born September 5, 1939 in Ellenville, son of the late William M. and Mildred (Sheeley) Amthor. On December 5, 1982 he was joined in marriage with Theresa Comstock. William was an expert clock repairman and owned his own business; the Tick-Tock Clock Shop. He was also an avid stamp collector and had an extensive record collection. He was well know for playing the organ for various churches. He was a member of NAWCC #3005 AND OLD TIMERS CHAPTER #22. He recently attended his 50th high school reunion of Walden High School.His was the last graduating class. Survivors include his beloved family; his wife Theresa; his son Seth and his daughter Elizabeth; his brother Arnold "Butch" Amthor and his wife Alice; his sister Arlene; Theresa's parents Roselle and Bette Comstock;his brothers in law George Comstock and his wife Sharon; James Comstock and his wife April and Dennis Comstock; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his son George and his brother Thomas. The family will receive relatives and friends at The Full Gospel Assembly Of God in Salisbury on Wednesday December 17, 2008 from 4pm-6pm.Religious service take place immediately following at 6pm at the church with Pastor Robert Brent officiating.He will be laid to rest in the spring in Salisbury Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the family. Envelopes can be obtained at the church during the calling hours.
