Mr. Willard Emerson Belcher 76 of 434 Mason Road Mohawk former Town of Salisbury resident, died Saturday December 15th, 2012 at Bassett Hospital Cooperstown after a brief illness.
Willard was born in the town of Salisbury on December 31, 1935, the son of Willard and Mable (Decker) Belcher and attended Stratford Schools.
He was employed for many years at the Adirondack Bat Company of Dolgeville, which is now Rawlings Industries, retiring from there several years ago.
Willard was a member of National Rifle Association, the Herkimer County Humane Society, and was a member of the "Dave Hazard Country Strings" where he played his violin. He was also an avid outdoors man enjoying the many hunting seasons.
Surviving is his Companion Doris Bowalok of Mohawk, his daughters Robin Belcher-Carr of Salisbury and Sue Griffin of Stratford, a Sister June Scaranio of Herkimer, his grandchildren Jennifer Jakins and Kevin "Bub" Griffin Jr. his great granddaughters Cassandra, Lexy and Gabby. Several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 18th, 2012 at 1PM at the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville. Calling hours are on Tuesday from 11 AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Stratford Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please consider memorials to the Herkimer County Humane Society or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available.
