IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wilder Allen
Cantwell
October 13, 2025 – March 15, 2026
Wilder Allen Cantwell
Wilder was, to his parents and brother, a joyful gift that is too hard to put into words. It is with heavy hearts that we announce his passing at 5 months old on March 15, 2026. Wilder is now held in the arms of Jesus Christ.
Wilder was born on October 13, 2025, to parents Emma C. (Smith) and Michael W. Cantwell. Wilder was welcomed into a kind, warm & God-loving home. He was one of the happiest babies a parent could ask for. His big blue eyes were one of his most endearing features, ever observant to his surroundings. Wilder and his brother Manasseh often smiled wide at the sight of each other, and Manasseh loved to make his little buddy laugh.
With the short time Wilder was here with us, his impact on this world was meaningful and significant. At the time of his passing, he was able to provide anatomical gifts to those in need. This selfless act gifted life to four others. In light of this glimpse we have into the purpose God had for Wilder's life, let there be a sense of peace as we rest in the sovereignty of God.
Wilder is survived by his parents, Michael W. & Emma C. (Smith) Cantwell; his older brother, Manasseh Cantwell; Maternal Grandfather, Jeff Smith; Paternal Grandparents, Tim & Sue Cantwell. His Aunts and Uncles; Hannah (Smith) & Chris Landis, Owen Smith, Ella Smith, Landon Smith, Jonathan Smith, Meghan (Cantwell) & Shawn Miller. His Cousins; Abilene, Caleb, & Timothy Landis. Also Maternal Great-Grand parents; Great Aunts & Great Uncles & their families.
The Cantwell family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who helped provide aid to Wilder and his family in their time of need: the Herkimer Co. 911 Center, the Medics from the Little Falls Fire Department, the Little Falls Hospital ER, Mercy Flight Medics, Albany Medical Center Pediatrics Intensive Care Unit, and the hospitality of the Ronald McDonald House.
A service and celebration of life will be held for Wilder on Saturday, March 28th at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Little Falls, located at 555 Albany St. Little Falls, NY 13365.
Immediately following the service will be a lunch at the Christian Academy at 156 West Monroe St., Little Falls, NY.
For anyone wishing to assist the family, food donations can be brought to the gathering at The Church Academy. For anyone who would like to assist with finances for the family, please consider donating using the following link. Can donate at: https://gofund.me/a2649f4e6
“People were bringing little children to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, He was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. And He took the children in His arms, placed His hands on them and blessed them.” Mark 10:13-16
