Wendy A. Grems

FRANKFORT – Mrs. Wendy A. Grems, age 69, a longtime resident of Frankfort Center, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, September 3, 2024, with her loving and devoted family at her side.

Born in Utica on May 3, 1955, Wendy was the daughter of the late William and Joyce (Marshall) Brucker. She was raised and educated in Utica, graduating high school from UFA. Throughout the years, Wendy was employed for the New York State Thruway, and as a CNA as a home health aide, helping many of those in need of comfort, care and assistance. She had a nurturing and loving nature about her.

Wendy was blessed to share in a marriage with John Grems and together they built a home, raised their sons and operated a successful business. Her presence will be forever missed but never forgotten by those she leaves behind.

Wendy is survived by her beloved husband, John; her son, John Grems, Jr; her four granddaughters, Kayla Grems, Hilary Grems, Madison Grems and Gabriella Grems; her grandsons, Joshua Grems and his fiance , Alisha Green and Danion Jonker; her daughters-in-law, Janel Grems-Apel and Penny Farquhar; her sister, Nancy MacDonald, her children and their families; and her brother in-law, Michael “Mike” Salvatore. She also leaves her niece and Goddaughter, Deanna (Vinny) Lercara; nieces, Michelle (Paul and Daughter Catherine) Brown, Nikki Brucker and her children and Amber (Daniel) Chaya and their children; her nephews, William (Debra) Brucker and Keith (Lydia) Brucker and family and along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her canine and feline companions.

She was predeceased by her parents, William and Joyce Brucker; her beloved son, Michael W. Grems, who passed away on April 24, 2022; her brothers, William Brucker and Michael Brucker; her sister, Laura (Brucker) Salvatore; and several in-laws.

A special thank you is extended to the 3rd Floor West staff and ICU doctors and nurses at Wynn Hospital for their exceptional assistance and care shown to Wendy and her family during this difficult time.

Wendy’s family will gather to host a Celebration of Life on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 12:00 NOON – 3:00PM at Fratello’s restaurant and pizzeria, located 158 East Main Street, Frankfort, NY 13340. All are invited to attend.
