Wava Depiazza

Wava E. DePiazza, 92, a longtime Dolgeville resident, passed away on Thursday March 8, 2007, at Little Falls Hospital. She was born January 6, 1915, in Stratford, the daughter of the late Lucian & Lille (Everson) Jeffers and was educated in Salisbury Center schools. She was first married to the late Ernest Hamilton in 1932. Then she was united in marriage to Charles DePiazza in 1955. Mr. DePiazza passed away on November 9, 1971. At one time she worked at the former Daniel Green Shoe Company. From 1960 to 1974 Wava was an Avon Sales Rep. Mrs. DePiazza was of the Methodist faith. Wava enjoyed gardening and tending to her flower beds. In her leisure she was an avid reader. But most important to her was her family. She treasured the gathering of her loved ones for family dinners and preparing meals. Her passion was baking. Survivors include one son, Thomas Hamilton and friend Elaine Moore of Dolgeville, two daughters, Constance Walrath and husband Robert of Little Falls, & Wava ?Honey? Markwardt and husband Thomas of Dolgeville. She had many grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews, including two special nieces, Avis DePiazza of Dolgeville and Lucille Newport and husband James of Dolgeville, & two daughters-in-law, June Hamilton of Leesburg, Texas & Mary Chaires of Huntsville, Alabama. She was pre-deceased by a son Larry Hamilton on May 1, 2001, one brother, Rolla Jeffers and two sisters Shirley Leavitt & Lillian DePiazza. Funeral services will be held on Sunday March 11, 2007 at 5:30 pm from the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home, 3 Faville Ave., Dolgeville, NY. Spring burial will be in Stratford Rural Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Sunday March 11, 2007 from 3:00 pm until the time of the services.
