Ms. Wanda A. Farmer, a longtime Mohawk Valley resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, December 20, 2023, at Valley Health Services in Herkimer, where she has been a beloved resident these last few years.
Born in Hopkinton, NY, Wanda was the daughter of the late Earl and Dora (Votra) Farmer. She was raised and educated in Hartford, CT before relocating to the Mohawk Valley permanently. She retired from the quality control department of Sperry-Rand Univac after a twenty year career.
Although she never had children of her own, Wanda was the beloved aunt to numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and their families.
She was the last surviving member of the Farmer siblings and was predeceased by five brothers, Walter, Claude, Raymond, Bill and Frank; and by two sisters, Marjorie Tebo and Myrtle Urtz.
In keeping with Wanda’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. Her final arrangements were pre-arranged and entrusted to the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Homes, Enea, Ciaccia and Applegate Funeral Directors. Online notes of sympathy may be left at www.eneafamily.com .
