ST. JOHNSVILLE - Mrs. Waltraut I. "Trudy" Drowne, age 78, a longtime resident of Oppenheim, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday morning September 3, 2014 at the Hudson Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Albany, NY.
She was born on January 12, 1936 in Berlin, Germany, daughter of the late Friedrich Wilhelm Werkmuller "Willy" and Walli Margarete Dorothea Krafft and came to the United States in 1967. She was married to Charles E. Drowne on August 14, 1978 who died unexpectedly on December 12,1988. She had worked with the Little Falls Footwear Company in St. Johnsville and as a chef with Southampton Inn, Southampton Long Island, NY. Trudy was a professional chef and focused her
skill in the Long Island area, having served the Rockefeller family at one time.
Her funeral arrangements have been planned with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street in St.Johnsville, NY. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband Charles E. Drowne in the private family cemetery in Oppenheim (Route 29) on Friday September 5, 2014. The funeral will process from the funeral home on Center Street in St. Johnsville at 10:00 AM to the cemetery under the direction of Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Directors 518-568-2300. The cemetery graveside prayer will be offered by Reverend Wendy Cook of the Helderberg Evangelical Lutheran Church, Berne, NY.
