Walter S. Maytan

Mr. Walter S. Maytan, age 87, formerly of Little Falls, passed away peacefully in the afternoon of Sunday, August 16, 2026, at the Saratoga Hospital.

Walt was born on May 21, 1939, in Little Falls to Samuel and Catherine (Semenow) Maytan. He married Joyce Gonyea, they shared a loving union of 65 years. He was last employed by the Thermopatch Corporation in Syracuse, NY.

Walt is survived by his loving family, his wife Joyce Maytan, daughters, Lori Hardwood and her husband John and Sherri Maytan and her partner Jay Gebo. He leaves his 7 grandchildren; Jenna, Emily, Nicholas, Liam, Benjamin, Grace, Rachel, 6 great-grandchildren; Janelle, Charles, Oliver, Jaelynn, Owen, Theo as well as his sister Gail Balderston.

He was predeceased in death by his parents, his brother Paul Maytan and his brother-in-law Charles Balderston.

In keeping with Walt’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, August 26,2026 at 12:00 noon at the Mountain View Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Shells Bush Rd, Little Falls, New York.
