HERKIMER – Mr. Walter Kalynycz, age 94, a lifelong Herkimer area resident, entered eternal rest, peacefully, on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, in the privacy of his home.
He was born on June 6, 1927, in Herkimer, a son of the late John and Mary (Kurj) Kalynycz and was educated in Herkimer schools. He was a United States Navy Veteran and his last professional employment was with Herkimer Post Office, as a letter carrier, as well as Oak Hill Cemetery. Walter was a longtime member of the Herkimer Elks.
He is survived by his beloved family. In keeping with the wishes of Walt there will be no public visitation or funeral service. The family is being assisted with all arrangements by the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, Herkimer, NY (315) 866-1011, Funeral Directors Harry J. Enea, Jr., Kevin E. Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia.
