Viola E. Pliszek

July 4, 1949 — November 15, 2024

ILION - Mrs. Viola E. Pliszek, 75, of 65 Richfield St., passed away Friday morning, November 15, 2024, peacefully, in her home, after a short illness.

She was born in Amsterdam, New York, on July 4, 1949, the daughter of the late Guy and Jackie (Drobish) Siegle and she attended and graduated from Fort Plain Schools. Viola went on later in life to college, a proud graduate of Herkimer County Community College, ‘Class of 1996.’

She was married to Thomas P. Pliszek, on April 13, 1991, in Fort Plain. She was at one time employed by Helmont Mills, of St. Johnsville, for forty-seven years. Then she worked for Gehring-Tricot for three years and was currently employed at ICAN, Herkimer, assisting as an Administrative Assistant and Receptionist.

Mrs. Pliszek was a kind soul who absolutely loved life. Her sweet dogs, Bonnie and Clyde, meant so much to her. She was an avid golfer and dedicated her life to the happiness of her husband and home. Her unexpected passing has left us all very saddened as she will be deeply missed. She was a Devout Communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church as well as St. Francis de Sales Church, in Herkimer.

Viola is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas P. Pliszek; one brother and sister-in-law, Elmer Field and his wife, Mary, of Palatine Bridge; her step-mother, Margaret Siegle, of Canajoharie; her sister- in-law, Patricia Conde, of Herkimer; her dear nieces and nephews, Amanda and her husband, Bryan, Joshua and his wife, Victoria and Brittany and Stacey; her great-nieces, Kaylie and Khloe; and great-nephews, Ryder, Cole and Bodhi.
