Veronica May Weiss, age 69,of Herkimer, NY passed away on August 1, 2026, at the Wynn Hospital in Utica, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born on May 9, 1957, to Lyle R. and Julia J. (Breen) Mooney. Veronica was raised in Boonville, NY. In 1981, she married Robert P. Weiss, they shared a union of 45 years together, together they lived in many different states and created everlasting memories.

Veronica spent some time working at K-Mart before becoming a licensed daycare provider. With her natural maternal love, she ran a daycare out of her home for many years and cared for her daycare children as if they were her own. Her positive impact on their lives and love followed them into their adulthood.

Veronica’s greatest joy in life was being a mom and a grandmother. She cherished the time she spent with her granddaughters and daughter. She possessed a heart of gold and cared about her friends and family deeply. Always looking forward to and understanding the importance of spending time with her dearest friends. Veronica truly enjoyed the simple things in life the most. In her free time, you could often find her shopping or watching her favorite television programs.

Veronica is survived by her husband, Robert Weiss, her daughter, Emily Weiss and her love Andrew Cosme, her two granddaughters, Kinsley and Aylani Cosme, her grand-dog Chloe. As well as her siblings; Rosemary Mooney, Barbara Miller, and Ronald Mooney.

She was predeceased by her parents Lyle Mooney and Julia Mooney.
