Mrs. Veronica Jean Rose, age 84, of Ilion, NY, passed away in the comfort of her home on Monday September 1, 2026. She is now reunited with her beloved husband Floyd, who passed on June 18, 2024.
She was born on June 23, 1942, the daughter of the late Paul and Charlotte (Guile) Perkins. She received her education in the Ilion school system. In 1961, she married Floyd A. Rose. The couple shared a blessed union of 63 years.
Veronica affectionately named "Ronnie" was employed for several years at MDS in Herkimer, she then moved on to a career in the health field working for Mohawk Valley General Hospital, Faxton Hospital and the office of Dr. Rodriguez in Herkimer.
Veronica is survived by her two children; a daughter, Stephanie and Herb Schloicka of Ilion, and a son, Paul and Sue (Kerber) Rose of Ilion. Her Grandchildren and their families: Jonathan Schloicka (Jacquelyn), Timothy Schloicka (Kelsi), Brittany Kuznitz (AJ) and Taylor Rose, great-grandchildren; Thaddaeus Schloicka, Arya Schloicka, Jameson Kuznitz and her newest great-grandson Theodore Floyd Schloicka and the anticipated arrival of Colby Rhett Kuznitz this fall.
Some of Ronnie's proudest moments were those of which included her children, grandchildren and her green thumb in her flower gardens. Also, the birth of her children and grandchildren.
She also leaves her very special sister-in-law, Helen Rose and her family Robert (Kim), Beth Clapper (Brian), Eileen Chappell (Michael). Veronica additionally leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins with special mention of Laurence Rose.
She was predeceased by her husband Floyd Rose, her parents; Paul Charlotte & Paul Perkins, her in-law's: Robert Rose, Raymond (Lovetta), Edward (Lillian), Charles , Mary Willis (Ken), Hazel Eaker (Cliff), Beatrice Rose, and Dorothy.
A special thanks is offered to the entire Ilion Fire Department and the Ilion Police Department. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal services, Veronica and her family are under the care of the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Directors. 315-894-8000.
