HERKIMER – Timothy D. Pryor, age 74 of Herkimer, passed away, on Tuesday, March 11th, 2025, while in Crouse Medical Center, Syracuse, New York.
He was born on April 2nd, 1950, in Niagara Falls, NY, son of the late John E. and Elizabeth J. (Fraser) Pryor. He was a member of the graduating ‘Class of 1968,’ from Herkimer High School.
On August 3rd, 1974, Tim was united in marriage with Carol Marie Costello, and they shared 44 happy years together. She passed away on August 14, 2018.
Tim worked for Remington Arms from 1969 until his retirement following 42 years of service. He worked in various departments during his time there. He was active in the union acting as Steward during his tenure at Remington. He was also active on the board of the Credit Union of Remington Arms. Tim was an avid sports fan. He played semi-pro hockey in Orange County. He was also active in the NY Giants Touchdown Club, a follower of NY Yankees baseball, and enjoyed playing a round of golf with friends. He and Carol enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach and Florida to escape the New York winters. One of Tim’s most proud accomplishments was as a Call Firefighter.
He is survived by his brother, Robert Pryor (Phyllis), of Oneida, sister Judith Lasorella (Patsy), of Herkimer, sister-in-law, Glenna Pryor, of Utica, several nieces and nephews, Andrea, Julianne, Monica, Emily, Drew, Benjamin, and Katherine, and five great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Carol, his parents, John and Elizabeth, brother Michael and his beloved dogs, Maddie, Heidi, and Gretchen.
The funeral service will be on Thursday March 27th, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Church, North Bellinger Street in Herkimer. There are no calling hours. Spring interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, at a time convenient to the family.
