Timothy M. Lahey

MOHAWK - Tim Lahey, age 79, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, at Wynn Hospital in Utica, New York.

Tim was born on March 14, 1945, in Ilion. He graduated from Mohawk Central School in 1964. He attended several reunions through the years and shared laughter and stories with his fellow graduates.

Tim was an avid bingo player. He loved playing bingo at the Turning Stone Casino or local area games. His bedroom was decorated with bingo paraphernalia including shirts, hats, blankets and posters.

For many years, Tim lived in Mohawk. After his mother passed, he lived in various group homes supported by ARC Herkimer. He lived at the Brook Street home in Ilion for the past 15 years. The staff there provided exceptional care and support for him.

Tim was predeceased by his mother, Mickey and his father Sam. Tim is survived by his sister Pat (Jean) Lane, Cortland NY, his niece, Michele (Bill) Coyle, Trumansburg, NY, nephew Brian (Kristie) Lane, Earlville, NY, great nephew Hunter Lane, Earlville NY and Tim’s girlfriend Sherry, Ilion NY.

His family would like to thank Kassandra, Kristie, Audrey, Cheryl and Shelby for all of the love and support they gave Tim along with the entire staff at Brook Street and ARC Herkimer.

There will be no calling hours.

A celebration of life will be held on what would have been Tim’s 80th birthday, Friday, March 14th, 2025. It will be held at The Rack at the ARC Business Park at 420 East German Street, Herkimer, NY from 12 noon-4:00 pm.

There will be a private burial service at Mohawk Village Cemetery in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to ARC Herkimer at 350 South Washington Street, Herkimer, NY 13350 in Tim’s name.
