MOHAWK - Thomas Edward Thomas, age 74, of Mohawk, New York, passed away on Sunday, July 25th, 2021.

Tom was predeceased by his parents, Anna K. Thomas and James F. Thomas; and his sisters, Mary Ann Paterson and Margaret Kearns.

Tom is survived by his sister, Kathleen; brother, James; and generations of loving cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Tom was both a certified mathematics teacher and school administrator. He retired from the West Canada Valley Central School District after having taught for a total of 32 years over the course of his career as a public school teacher. Tom’s dedication to education was such that even into retirement he continued as an instructor at Utica College. Students and colleagues alike always knew Tom to be kind and supportive. Any community member in need of assistance or guidance could count on Tom to put a smile on their face, a gift which will be truly missed by his family and friends.

All those who knew Tom are invited to the Enea Family Funeral Home, located at 220 North Washington Street, Herkimer, NY for calling hours this Thursday evening, July 29, 2021, from 5:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m.

Services for Tom will be held Friday morning, July 30, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., at the Blessed Sacrament Church, in Mohawk. A procession to the Mohawk Cemetery will follow, where Tom will be laid to rest next to his mother and father.

Tom’s arrangements are with his lifelong friends, Harry J. Enea, Jr., Kevin E. Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia, Funeral Directors (315) 866-1011.
