Thomas F. Groom

ILION - Mr. Thomas F. Groom, 74, of East North Street, passed away on February 16, 2024 at his home, with loving family at his side.


He was born on April 18, 1949, in Herkimer, New York and was a graduate of Herkimer High School. He was united in marriage to the former Dawn Zukowski and was last employed with Conrail as a welder supervisor.


He was predeceased by his parents, Maynard and Genevieve (Darby) Groom; his sister, Bertha Groom; his brother, William Groom; and a daughter, Valerie.


He is survived by his wife, Dawn; his granddaughter, Sarah Falcon and her husband Jay and their children, daughters Olivia and Mylah; his daughters, Colleen and Amy; and many other grandchildren, nieces and nephews.


There will be a gathering on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. on, at Olivia's Happy Tails, particularly at Colleen's house, upstairs, where she lives, at 111 Green Street, in Herkimer.
