Thomas Enea

d. January 9, 2004

Mr. Thomas D. "Tommy" Enea, age 87, of 116 W. Main St., Frankfort, went home to be with his precious Lord Jesus and to sit with him in heavenly places on Friday afternoon, January 9, 2004 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica. He was born in Portland, Maine on November 1, 1916, a son of the late Julius and Angelina (Ianotti) Enea and was educated in Portland, Maine schools. The Enea family came to Herkimer when Tommy was a teenager. On February 3, 1944, he was united in marriage with the former Lovisa Brewer in Virginia. They have remained best friends throughout their 59 years of marriage. Inspired by their mutual feelings of abiding respect and sincere commitment, each of them was deeply dedicated to the other's well-being and happiness. Tommy enlisted with the United States Army on December 8, 1943 and was honorably discharged on March 11, 1946, three years of heroic service to our country. He was last employed by the former Valley Tool. Deeply dedicated to religion, he was a member of the Church of Sts. Anthony and Joseph, Herkimer. He leaves his beloved wife, Lovisa of Frankfort, a devoted daughter, Patricia of Frankfort, two special brothers, Ascanio "Bing" Enea and wife Grace of Ilion, and Harry J. Enea, Sr., and wife Lucille of Herkimer. Also surviving are many precious nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. He leaves two special sisters in law, Agnes Bambic and Jennie Siver and her daughter Barbara and family, two special Godchildren, Jay Sorrentino and Scott Williams and he also leaves a dear friend, Frank Paratore who has always been like a brother to him. Tommy was the best husband a woman could want and the best father that any child could ever have. He was a wonderful, kind, loving man who was full of life. His quick wit and wonderful sense of humor always brought a smile. He was always ready to help anyone who asked and to share with those who were not as fortunate as he. Tom shared with his daughter the music ministry that the Lord has entrusted into his daughter's care. Well into his 80's, he was carrying instruments and acting as a "catcher" for those times when the presence of the Lord was so great that people were slain in the Spirit during Praise and Worship services. His fathers heart made him a wonderful father to many. He especially loved each member of the Sts. Anthony and Joseph's Women's Choir and considered them his daughters, along with Janet DiNitto and Joyce Riengo. He loved them with the true love of a father's heart. His smile, energy and love will be missed by many. Friends and relatives are invited to visitation at the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main Street, between Frankfort and Ilion, on Monday, Jan. 12, 2004 from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004 from 5-8 p.m. Tommy's funeral will commence on Wednesday morning, Jan. 14, at 8:45 am from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered, thence to Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. He will be laid to rest, with full military honors, this spring in Oak View Cemetery, Frankfort.
