ILION – Mr. Thomas H. Backus, age 57, of Ilion, New York, entered into eternal rest with the Lord, on June 9, 2023, at Little Falls Hospital after being stricken at home.

Tommy was born July 4, 1965, in Ilion, NY, the son of his dad, Lynn E. Backus, Sr. (predeceased) and his mom, Elizabeth (Robotham), with whom he lived. Raised and educated in Mohawk, Tom graduated from Mohawk Central School. He loved music and riding his moped and loved playing records any chance he could get. He loved playing drums! He worked with Remington Arms, Ilion, heat-treat department. He will be dearly missed.

Tom leaves behind his wife, Noreen (Raymonda); his son, Matthew; his 4 stepchildren: Beau, Gloria, Jordan and Michelle; his mother, Elizabeth; his siblings and spouses, Edward James (Lorie), of Mohawk, Timothy Noel (Lynette), of Tupper Lake; and a sister, Deborah Lynn, of Cookson, OK; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Tom was pre-deceased by his father, Lynn, Sr. and his brother, Lynn, Jr.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, and will consist of the following times: A Calling hour will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, from 11a.m. until 12 noon, at The Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, in Herkimer, New York. We will then take Tom to his final resting place, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer, at which time a Graveside Prayer Service will take place. Family and friends are invited to attend the calling hour and Graveside Prayer Service to follow.
