Cookeville, TN/Ilion: Mr. Theodore “Terrible Ted” Fournier, 78, of Cookeville, TN and formerly of Ilion passed away on April 8, 2016. He was born on September 16, 1937 in Amsterdam, NY to the late George & Gertrude Fournier. Ted attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and Wilbur H. Lynch High School.
He was united in marriage to Sharon Gilbert of Herkimer on June 15, 1973. Ted proudly served his county in the New York National Guard. He was employed by Sperry Univac, formerly Remington Rand, where he retired as the Senior Systems Engineer in Del City, Oklahoma.
Ted was an avid amateur radio operator (K2KDP) and a long time member of the NRA. He enjoyed outdoor sports including fishing and shooting. “World’s Greatest Aviator and Part-time Brain Surgeon” – Ted Fournier.
He is survived by his wife Sharon of Cookeville, TN his children Deborah and her husband Doug of Brookfield, NY, Doreen of West Winfield, NY, (daughters from his first marriage to the late Lorraine (Kowalczyk) Fournier), Ted of Ilion, Dawn and husband Tim, of Algood, TN, and Trenton and wife Shannon of Lake Luzerne, NY. He also leaves behind is granddaughters, Ashley Fournier, Rebecca Williams, Emily Reid, Joselyn Fournier, Kaelin Fournier, and Alexis Fournier, three grandsons, Kyle Coffin ‘Papa’s Squirrel”, Adam Coffin and Ethan Fournier; as well as three great-grandchildren. Ted also leaves behind his sister Shirley Wilson of Gloversville, NY.
Ted is predeceased by a brother Bernard and his sister Irene and son in-law Patrick Reid.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation and Memorial Service for Ted, which will take place from 11:00AM to 1:00 PM, on Saturday June 25, 2016, at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, (Town of Frankfort) Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000. A Memorial Service will commence at 1:00PM with the Deacon Jim Bower officiating. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Directors.
