LITTLE FALLS – Mr. Theodore J. Roy, age 102, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his Daughter Margo’s residence surrounded by his family that loved him the most.
He was born on March 10th, 1923, in Little Falls, New York, a son of the late Vincent William and Mary (Mackowska) Roy. He attended Little Falls schools then went on to serve our country during World War II with the United States Army, having enlisted in 1943. Upon decorated honorable discharge in 1946, he held the rank of Corporal. His military career expanded throughout the Pacific Theatre, Bismarck Archipelago, Guadalcanal Campaign, Banica, Green Island, Samar, and Leyte. Later, he was proud to have served the CCC’s Civilian Conservation Corps, namely at Blue Mountain Lake and re-enlisting in Speculator.
His working career reflected upon Millers Warehouse for 20 years in Little Falls and worked at Remington Arms for a short time. He retired from Cherry Burrell Corporation as a crater.
He was united in marriage to his wife of 61 years Lucille A. (Richardson) Roy on June 30th, 1951, at Sacred Heart Church in Little Falls officiated by Father Joseph Batkiewicz, then Pastor. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife Lucille on June 22nd, 2012.
While Theodore’s presence will be deeply missed, his spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of his family and friends. The lessons he imparted and the love he shared will continue to guide them through life’s journey. He was not just a father and grandfather but a pillar of strength and source of wisdom to many. Often, he would be found relaxing to his hobbies of fishing, golfing and bike riding.
He was a life member of the VFW staff Sgt. Stephen Stefula Post, and held memberships with the Polish Community Home, the Little Falls American Legion Post #31, and the Dolgeville Rod & Gun Club.
Theodore Roy may have departed from this world, yet his memory will live on in the stories shared. He will be missed dearly; his spirit will remain alive in the hearts of all those he touched. Rest in peace, Theodore Roy. Your love will continue to shine brightly in our lives.
Theodore is survived by his children: Margo Quatrino, Mark Roy, Marsha Poore, Marty Roy, and Scott Roy. He also leaves behind a beautiful legacy in the form of 13 cherished grandchildren and 17 adoring great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of his spirit with them.
The past three years of Theodore’s life were marked by the exceptional care and devotion provided by his grandson, Justin Theodore Quatrino, and his son-in-law, Dennis Quatrino. The bonds they forged during this time were profound and will remain a cherished part of their memories together.
Besides his parents and wife, Lucille, he was predeceased by his sister, Rose Druzba and brother John Roy.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 31st, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish Church, corner of East Main & John Streets in Little Falls where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The casket will then be processed to St. Mary’s Cemetery, town of Herkimer, New York where interment will take place with military honors.
In honor of Theodore’s wishes, the family will hold a private calling hour at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street in Little Falls, NY and together will celebrate his remarkable life. Those who knew him are encouraged to remember the kindness he showed to others, and the laughter he brought into the world. As they gather to reflect on his life, they will carry forward his legacy of love, strength, and resilience.
