HERKIMER – Ms. Susan E. Oram, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 6, 2024, in the privacy and comfort of her home.
Born in Plattsburgh on August 8, 1955, Susan was the daughter of the late Rev. David B. and Violet K. “Vicky” (Black) Terns. As a child, she moved around the state quite a bit before settling in the Mohawk Valley, eventually graduating from Mohawk High School.
Soon thereafter, Susan began working at Oneida National Bank, staying there through many consolidations, eventually retiring from Bank of America in 2005.
In her free time, Susan enjoyed keeping her mind busy and could often be found playing games on her computer, such as Wheel of Fortune, Solitaire and slots. Her presence will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind.
She is survived by her daughter, Bridget K. Williams and Alex Bowers of Oppenheim; her sister, Catherine Terns and Stan Everson of Mohawk; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kevin Oram (Samantha Dillenbeck) and his children, Hunter and Emma, of Salisbury, Seth Guido of Mohawk, Andrew Hennings of Herkimer, Chelsea Hapeman (Mike Zimmerman) and their daughter, Grace Lynn Zimmerman of Oneonta, and Victoria Hapeman of Lowville.
She was predeceased by her parents; her daughter, Jennifer L. Hapeman; her brother, David Terns; and her longtime companion, Steve Faith.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a graveside service for Susan on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 10:30AM at Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton, NY 13856, where her earthly remains will be laid to rest with her father.
