Susan E. Buchanan

ILION – Susan E. Buchanan, age 58, of Ilion and Frankfort , passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at home, after a long illness, with her family by her side.

She was born on January 9, 1961, in Paso Robles, CA, the daughter of John H. Vaughan and Jean (Cross) Vaughan and graduated from Paso Robles High School .  On March 1, 1980, she was married to Shane C. Buchanan, in Sangerfield , NY .  At one time, Susan was a teacher in Paso Robles, CA.  She was also an employee at Hamilton Hospital , in Hamilton , NY .  Susan was a born again Christian.  She collected bird figurines and was an avid NASCAR fan.

Surviving family members include her husband, Shane; her mother, Jean Vaughan; her daughter, Shannon Lawlor and her husband, Richard; her son, Ryan Buchanan; her grandchildren, Malachi Buchanan and Richard Lawlor III; 3 sisters; 1 brother; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father, John.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
