Steven G. Hentnik

ST. JOHNSVILLE – Mr. Steven G. Hentnik, age 70, of St. Johnsville, New York, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 27th, 2025, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York.

Steven was born on March 7th, 1955, in Amsterdam, New York, the son of John Joseph Hentnik and Elizabeth Jean Hentnik. He was a graduate of Amsterdam High School. He then attended Schenectady County College for Culinary Science. Steven served in the United States Army, the recipient of an honorable discharge.

Steve retired from Anderson Instruments, town of Glen, New York. Steve was an active member of AMVETS, and the AMVET Motorcycle Riders Club. Steve was an avid guitar player and former DJ. Steve was a devoted family man. He was especially fond of his great-grandchildren.

Steven was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Patricia, his brother, Kevin, and his son, Michael.
Steven is survived by his beloved wife, Dawn, his brother, John “Jack” Hentnik (Elizabeth), his son, Jeffrey Hentnik (Heather), his stepdaughter, Pamela Baber (Bob), and grandchildren, Courtney Benson (Andrew), Caitlyn Hentnik, Tori Acker, and Caitlin Barton (Lacee). And many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, In-Laws, and his special friend Barbie, best friends from school, Jimmy Romeyn and Michael Vassi.

There will be a Celebration of Steven’s Life at the St. Johnsville American Legion, 38 West Main Street, St. Johnsville, New York, on Sunday, April 13th, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM.

In lieu of flower offerings, donations in Steven’s name may be considered to the American Cancer Society.
