HERKIMER – Mr. Steven James Fineout, age 55, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, December 31, 2019, in the comfort of his apartment at Kennedy Plaza, Utica, New York.
Steven was born on July 9, 1964, in Herkimer, New York, son of the late Harold and Eleanor (Ray) Fineout. A lifelong area resident and raised in Herkimer, he was a graduate of Herkimer High School. Prior to moving to Utica, he was a longtime resident of London Towers, in Ilion. For a while, Steve had worked with the Arc in Herkimer. Steven was a gentle soul. He was pure of heart and had great sensitivity for the world around him. He will be missed.
Surviving are his children, Steve Fineout, of Herkimer and Rebeca Fineout, of Schuyler; his siblings, Tom Fineout and his wife, Kathie, of Herkimer, Bruce Fineout and his wife, Val, of Vestal, Kathie Shufelt, of Ilion, Michael Fineout and his wife, Veronica, of Herkimer, Jeffrey Fineout, of Georgia and Lori Fineout, of South Carolina; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Candra Britton.
A graveside funeral service for Mr. Fineout will take place later this spring in Mountain View Cemetery at a time to be announced.
