IN LOVING MEMORY

STRATFORD - We are very sorry to share that Stephen Francis Willig passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16th, 2026, at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, New York, surrounded by the love and support of his Lexington family.

Stephen was born on June 9th, 1963. He became part of the Lexington family in September of 2017 when he moved into his beautiful home in Stratford. It was the perfect place for Stephen, as he truly loved being outdoors. He enjoyed the fresh air, the gentle breeze, and the peaceful sounds of wildlife that surrounded his home.

Stephen especially enjoyed spending time outside when family barbecues were being cooked. Those moments brought him great happiness, as he loved being part of the activity and togetherness that came with gathering outside.

Stephen also attended the Oppenheim Day Program for many years, where he spent time among friends and staff who were honored to support him. The day program provided him with meaningful connections and opportunities to enjoy his days with others who cared deeply for him.

Stephen had a wonderful smile and an infectious laugh that could brighten the room and bring joy to those around him. He also had a sweet tooth and especially loved cake, along with anything chocolate or strawberry.

Stephen will be remembered with great fondness by the many staff and friends who had the privilege of knowing him. He was cared for with compassion, dedication, and respect by the teams who supported him each day.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the staff who supported Stephen over the years and to the team at Bassett Medical Center for their care and compassion.

Stephen will be deeply missed by his Lexington family. The memories shared with him will remain in our hearts always.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 9th, 2026, at 10:00 AM at The Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street in St. Johnsville, New York. Interment of his casket will take place later this spring at Prospect Cemetery, Gloversville, New York. The Lexington Family are asked to gather shortly before 10:00 AM at the funeral home on Thursday, April 9th, and attend the funeral services officiated by Pastor Michael Torres.
