HERKIMER – Mr. Stephen R. Jones, age 67, a Garden Lane, Herkimer resident, passed away with devoted love at his side, on April 4, 2024, at his home.
He was born on October 18, 1956, in Utica, New York, a son of the late Robert and Barbara (Miller) Jones. He graduated from Herkimer High School in 1974. He went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree at SUNY Oneonta and then his MBA from SUNY Cortland. He was married to Mary L. (Belorit) Allen – Jones, on February 12, 1993.
Stephen’s career spanned forty plus years in the banking industry. He worked several years at Herkimer County Trust in Little Falls, as Vice President of lending. He was last employed at Patriot Bank, in Amsterdam, as a commercial loan officer, having retired in 2017. Through the years, he served with the board of the ARC Herkimer, was an avid reader and lifelong New York Jets fan.
His beloved family survives. Stephen was a loving husband to his wife, Mary; a loving father to his son, Eddie; his sisters, Sharon Parker and Andrea Jones; his nephew, Cory Jones, (all of Herkimer); his In-laws, Rose Vespi, Chris Brady, Palma and Grant Moore, Paul Belorit (all of Little Falls), Elizabeth Copeland (of Schenectady), Patrick Belorit (of Rome); and his nephew, Aaron Vespi, his wife April and their daughter Alexis (all of Little Falls).
Services are limited to a private family gathering. Arrangements have been entrusted to family lifelong friends, Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors. (315) 866-1011.
