Mr. Stanley D. Kraszewski, Sr., 77, of 4 Newton St., Mohawk, passed away on Wednesday morning, May 21, 2003 in the comfort of his home. Mr. Kraszewski was surrounded with the love and support of his family at the time of his passing. He was born on February 22, 1926 in Herkimer, a son of the late John and Michaline (Tyska) Kraszewski and received his education in West Canada Valley Schools. Stanley entered into military service with the United States Navy on February 19, 1944. He was honorably discharged on November 27, 1945. On July 11, 1949, he was united in Holy Matrimony with the former Vera H. Kelly at St. Mary's Church in Little Falls. The couple shared a 53-year union filled with love and devotion. Mrs. Kraszewski passed away on September 2, 2002. Stanley was last employed as an Iron worker with the Iron worker union of Utica. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk. He was a member of the Herkimer VFW Michael S. Pliseck Post #4915 and the Polish Community Home, Herkimer. Mr. Kraszewski considered his family to be his first and most important priority as well as the course of his deepest satisfaction and pride. He was committed to the wellbeing and happiness of his loved ones. In his leisure time he enjoyed polka dancing and gardening. He was a man who truly appreciated life and what it had to offer. Stanley leaves two beloved children, Stanley D. Kraszewski, Jr. and fiance Joan and Pamella Tucker and husband Mike of Mohawk, two brothers, Francis Kraszewski and wife Shirley of Kast Bridge and Thomas Kraszewski of Kast Bridge, two sisters, Helen D'Ambrosio and husband Angelo of Herkimer and Stella Sadowski and husband Tony of Perth Amboy, NJ, two sisters in law, Sophie Kraszewski of Poland and Rose Kraszewski of Poland, three cherished grandchildren, Kelly, Anna and Stanley Kraszewski, III, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Tessie Matthews and Mary Vincent and two brothers, John Kraszewski and Walter Kraszewski. The family invites relatives and friends to visitation at the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main Street between Frankfort and Ilion, (894-8000) on Friday, May 23, 2003 from 5- 8 p.m. Stanley's funeral will commence at 1 pm on Saturday, May 24, from the chapel of the Enea Family Funeral Home where prayer will be offered and at 1:30 from Blessed Sacrament Church, Main Street, Mohawk where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Procession will follow to Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer where Stanley will be laid to rest and full military rites will be accorded by the United States Navy. The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to the 2nd floor surgical unit at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown for their compassion shown, especially mentioning Dr. Bradley, Dr. Whitaker and Dr. Bromley, your professionalism will not be forgotten. Members of the Herkimer VFW will gather at the funeral home at 6:30 pm to conduct ritualistic services.
