Herkimer: Stanley Danielak, 91, of Herkimer, passed away peacefully, February 24, 2013, at his residence.
He was born on January 15, 1922, in Herkimer, the son of the late Michael and Rose (Kilenan) Danielak and was a graduate of Herkimer High School, Class of '40. Stanley served in the United States Army during World War II. On September 3, 1949, He married the former Ann Sokol in Herkimer.
Prior to his retirement, He was employed with ConTel, Gloversville. Stanley enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, especially taking hikes and spending time on the farm.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty three years, Ann; his daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Geoffrey Slack of Mastic Beach and Rosanne and Thomas Kenney of Baldwinsville; his grandchildren, William Slack and his wife, Ashley of Columbus, GA, Mary Slack of Mastic Beach and Luke Kenney of Baldwinsville; several nieces and nephews. Stanley was predeceased by his brother, Leo Danielak and his sister, Stephanie Humphrey.
In keeping with Stanley's wishes, his funeral was held privately at the family's convenience. The family has asked to kindly consider contributions, in Stanley's memory, to the American Cancer Society, 100 Lomond Court, Utica, NY 13502 or the Alzheimer's Association Central New York, 441 West Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204-1361
