Shirley Sauer

Shirley Sauer, 81 a long time town of Oppenheim resident, passed away on Sunday April 9, 2006 at the Prospect Care Center, Hackensack, New Jersey. She was born September 4, 1924 in Rowayton, Conn., the daughter of the late Walter Blauvelt, Sr. and Mary (Hendricks) Blauvelt, and was a graduate of Norwalk High School in Conn. Her marriage to Milton O. Sauer took place on December 11, 1948 in Conn. Mr. Sauer passed away on July 28, 1991. Mrs. Sauer was a member of the Crum Creek Methodist Church and the Oppenheimer Senior Citizens. Survivors include her son, Milton Sauer and wife Arlene of Meridan, Conn., and a daughter, Mary Jane Cella and husband Harold of Rochelle Park, NJ., a brother, Robert Blauvelt of Florida, 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Leach and husband Jeffrey, Matthew Sauer, Sr. and wife Kim, Kevin Sauer and Kimberly Forcellina, 3 great grandchildren, twin daughters, Emerson & Sydney Leach and Matthew Sauer, Jr., and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Walter Blauvelt and a sister Dorothy Krausse. Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 13, 2006 at 11:00 am from the ROberts & Enea Family Funeral Home, 3 Faville Ave., Dolgeville, NY. Burial will be in Rural Park Cemetery, Ingham Mills, NY. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday April 12, 2006 from 6-8 pm.
