Sharon Ann (Scalise) Tubia, age 54, of Herkimer, beloved wife of Joseph Tubia entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 9, 2003 in her home following a long courageous battle with cancer. Her family was by her side at the time of her passing. She was born on August 20, 1948 in Herkimer, the daughter of the late Joseph Scalise and Carrie (Caruso) Scalise of Herkimer. Sharon was educated in the Frankfort Schools. Sharon was united in marriage to Joseph Tubia on October 20, 1970 in St. Mary's Church in Frankfort. She was last employed by Rite Aid of Herkimer as the assistant manager. Sharon dedicated herself wholeheartedly and lovingly to the various roles that made up her personal life: deeply committed to her family, she was an exceptional wife, mother and grandmother. An admirable and extraordinary woman, she was blessed with a warm and friendly attitude, a good and open heart and a genuine and gracious manner. She leaves a legacy of love and inspiration. Survivors include her husband, Joe of Herkimer, two daughters, Jeannie Gambacorta and husband David of Herkimer and Justine Tubia and fiance Adam Hutchinson of Herkimer , four brothers, Joseph Scalise and wife Connie of Herkimer, Michael Scalise and wife Patty of Herkimer, Ronald Scalise and wife Mamie of Frankfort, Eddie Scalise and wife Kathy of Frankfort, and a loving and devoted sister, Terry Virkler and husband Rich of Herkimer, two grandchildren, Vincent and Anthony Gambacorta, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Also surviving are many dear friends including Connie and Paul Gigliardi of Herkimer. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, on Tuesday, August 12, 2003 from 4-8 p.m. Sharon's funeral will commence at 9:30 am on Wednesday, August 13, at the Church of Sts. Anthony and Joseph, South Main St., Herkimer where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be held at the family's convenience.
