ILION – Sharon H. McLaughlin, age 76, formerly of Ilion and Little Falls, passed away peacefully, on May 22, 2023, at Embrace Hospice House, in Myrtle Beach, SC.
She was born on Aug. 12, 1946, in Ilion, the daughter of Paul and Jean (Shoen) Adams and attended Ilion High School. At one time, she was married to Kenneth A. Putnam, who died in 2011. She later married Glen McLaughlin, on June 11, 2016, in Fort Herkimer, NY. Sharon worked at Snyder Bicycle Co., Momentum and MDS. She also worked as a Herkimer Co. Public Health Dept. Public Health Nurse and Home Health Aide. She was also an Avon Sales Rep. for many years. She was a member of the Rock Church, Conway, SC and the Mohawk American Legion Auxiliary, in Mohawk, NY. Sharon liked playing Bingo at the Casino and local organizations. She loved to go to Big M and Casino Boat, in South Carolina.
Surviving family members include her sons, Tom Waldron and his fiancée Helen Muller, of Newport, NY and Michael Waldron and his wife, Deb., of Charleston, SC; her daughter, Lisa (Waldron) Witte and her fiancé, Scott Schiller; her grandchildren, Stephen and Cassandra, Thomas, Nicky, Zach, Hannah, Ryan, Ashley and Angela; several great-grandchildren; her 2 sisters, Carol Gillette and her husband, Ron, of FL and Donna Rockwell and her husband, Doug, of Salisbury, NY; her brother, Robert Adams and his wife, Donna, of New Berlin, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A special thank you to Sharon’s niece and nephew, Heidi and Russell Pettingell, for taking such good care of Sharon.
She was predeceased by her 2 sisters, Judy and Patty.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend Sharon’s Celebration of Life and Committal Prayer Service, at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023, at Armory Hill Cemetery, Benedict Ave., Ilion, NY.
