Sgt. Jerry R. Licari

December 23, 1946 — July 13, 2024

FRANKFORT - SGT. Jerry R. Licari, Ret. Village of Frankfort PD, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, July 13, 2024, at the Wynn Hospital in Utica. He was 77 years old.

Born in Ilion on December 23, 1946, Jerry was the son of the late Jerry P. Licari and Helen (Bolicki) Licari. He was raised and educated in Frankfort, graduating from Frankfort-Schuyler High School with the Class of 1966.

On September 21, 1968, Jerry was married to the former Helen Treen at St. Mary's Church in Frankfort. Together they shared in over fifty-five years of a loving and devoted union.

Jerry's career was spent with the Village of Frankfort Police Department where he was known by many as simply "Sarge". He was proud of his accomplishments and made many lasting friendships during his years on the force. After his retirement from the Village, he continued to work as a New York State Court Officer until officially retiring in 2015.

In his spare time, Jerry was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and camping on the St. Lawrence River. He was very proud of his home and could often be found puttering in his yard, listening to Elvis or playing practical jokes on his family and friends.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Helen; his daughter and son-in-law, Tracey and Joseph Stosal of Frankfort; along with extended family and many friends. He was predeceased by his father, Jerry R. Licari, in 2012.

In keeping with Sarge's wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. His family gathered privately to bid their farewells to him. A Celebration of Life will take place at a date and time to be announced.

The Licari family has entrusted the care of their husband and father to the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road , Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000, Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors. Online notes of sympathy may be left at www.eneafamily.com .
