Scott A. Lizio

d. November 7, 2015

Mr. Scott A. Lizio, age 48, currently of Little Falls and formerly of Gloversville, passed into the arms of Christ on Saturday, November 7, 2015, at the Basset Medical Center in Cooperstown. At the time of his passing he was surrounded by the love and support of his family.
Born on May 26, 1967, Scott is the son of Rita (Javarone) Lizio and the late Thomas Lizio. He was raised and educated in the Gloversville and Mayfield areas, graduating from Mayfield High School. He continued his education at Fulton-Montgomery Community College, where he earned his Associate’s Degree. Scott spent the majority of his working years as a Construction Estimator for various contractors throughout the area.
At one time, Scott shared in a marriage to the late Rachael Smith, a relationship from which came their beloved son, Thomas. Scott’s greatest gift in life was his title of “Dad”. As a father, Scott shared a special and close-knit bond with his son. The two spent countless hours together and truly enjoyed one another’s company. Scott was supportive of all of his son’s endeavors and was his number one fan when it came to his participation in sporting events. He raised his Thomas on strong, Christian values, and instilled in him the same faith that he held in his own heart.
Scott will be remembered as a fun-loving, caring and giving man. He was selfless in his actions and strove to give of himself completely in order to help others. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and competitive shooting, and was a diehard Green Bay Packers football fan.
For over twenty years, Scott was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, and had made a steadfast commitment in his life to help others afflicted with alcoholism. He held a strong Christian faith, which kept him grounded through the years, and was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God in Cobleskill.
Scott will forever be remembered by his son, Thomas J. Lizio of Little Falls; his mother, Rita Lizio of Johnstown; several aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as many close and personal friends, with special mention of Kent and Deborah Hogedoom, who were by his side until the end.
Scott’s family would like to acknowledge the staff of the Intensive Care Unit at Basset Medical Center for their diligence, professionalism and compassion shown to him throughout his time there.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend Scott’s calling hours which will take place on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 4:00-6:00PM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St. Little Falls, NY, 13365. Scott’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will take place at 6:00PM, immediately upon the conclusion of visitation, with Reverend Ray Richards of the Calvary Assembly of God, Cobleskill, officiating.
