DOLGEVILLE-LITTLE FALLS - Mrs. Sandra (Sandy) Elaine Critser, age 81, of Dolgeville-Little Falls, NY, the wife of James Critser, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at the Bassett Medical Center, in Cooperstown, NY.
Sandra was born on September 22, 1941, in Little Falls, the daughter of the late Edith (Howland) and Harry “Goggin” Burton (stepfather). She was raised and educated in Dolgeville schools.
Sandy was a stay-at-home housewife and mother. She enjoyed gardening immensely, but her real passion was dry flower arrangements to which she dedicated an entire room in her home to meticulously hone her craft. Every fall, she and her husband would spend days canning their vegetables. Sandy made the best chicken and biscuits in the Mohawk Valley. Always resourceful, she approached her hobbies with vigor, from paving her own driveway to painting entire rooms with as good a line as any professional. She had a sharp wit and never missed a beat.
Sandy was the loving mother of Ronald (Michele) Mornelli, Christopher (Wendy) Mornelli, Steven (Tira) Mornelli and Gregory Mornelli (deceased). She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Kayla (Jerry) Thorn and Christopher Mornelli; as well as her three great- grandchildren, Easton, Noah and Milena Thorn.
