Ruth K. Mather

FRANKFORT - Ruth K Mather, 97, of Edgebrook Estate Circle, Frankfort NY, passed peacefully at Siegenthaler Center, town of Kirkland, New York, with family by her side on October 6th, 2025.

She was born in Rome, NY, a daughter to the late Joseph and Theresa (Bussey) Kaelin and graduated high school in Westmoreland NY.

Ruth enjoyed studying Latin, camping and traveling with her husband in their RV, doing crossword puzzles, going to garage sales and spending time with family and friends.

Ruth retired from Midstate Heavy Equipment after 11 years and went on to work part time for Oneida County Office for the Aging until the age of 86 where she was known for her strong work ethic and as a snappy dresser.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband Forrest B. Mather, daughters Cynthia Lou Mather, Bonnie Holmes, Susan McDonell, her son Richard, sisters Lucille Brehme, Elanor Jones and her brother Albert Kaelin. She was married to Richard K. Holmes who died in 1955.

Ruth will be missed dearly by her surviving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, as well as friends, neighbors and co-workers that she has touched with her kindness and love.

Calling hours will eventually be arranged for family and friends. The family plot is at Westmoreland Union Cemetery.
