Mrs. Ruth-Ellen Bennett, age 56, of 630 Maple Grove Ave., wife of the late Charles Bennett, entered into eternal rest on Friday morning, August 22, 2003 in Faxton Hospital, Utica. She was born on November 5, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY a daughter of the late Emanual and Shirley (Strauss) Garbin. She received a master?s degree in history from SUNY Oneonta. She married the late Charles Bennett on May 4, 1971 in Newburgh, NY, he passed away on September 10, 2000. Ruth was last employed with the Adult Education Opportunity Center in Troy and was a member of the Temple Beth Joseph, Herkimer. She enjoyed reading and will be remembered as a loving and caring wife and mother. She leaves two beloved daughters, Sarah Jennifer Bennett and fianc? Darren Mosher of Troy, and Elizabeth Winifred Katzman and husband Joshua of Clifton Park, two brothers, Bruce Garbin of Bath, Maine, and Michael Garbin of Kempersville, IL, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ruth?s funeral will be held at the Temple Beth Joseph, North Prospect St., Herkimer on Sunday, August 24, 2003 at 1 pm with Kalman Socolof, officiating. Procession will follow to Temple Beth Joseph Cemetery, Herkimer where burial will take place. Shivah will be observed at the Bennett residence, 630 Maple Grove Ave., Herkimer on Sunday evening from 7-9 pm. and on Monday evening, from 7-9 p.m. Please omit floral offerings. Memorial contributions may be made to the Frank Basloe Public Library of Herkimer or to the Temple Beth Joseph, envelopes will be available at the Temple on Sunday. The Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer is serving the family.
