Roy L. Coffin

Frankfort-Schuyler – Roy L. Coffin, age 75, of Millers Grove Rd, Frankfort (Schuyler) NY, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Albany Medical Center, with his wife, Marcia by his side.

He was born on April 12, 1950, in Ilion, the son of Robert and Arlene (Gonyea) Coffin, and attended Frankfort-Schuyler Schools. Roy was married to Marcia Vallecorsa, on August 23, 1969, at the Church of the Annunciation, in Ilion. Mr. Coffin was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator, at Green Island Construction, Albany, New York. At one time, he was employed by Joe’s Sand and Rental, and Marcy Excavating. He was a member of the Church of the Annunciation, Ilion Knights of Columbus #518, and its’ 4th Degree Assembly, and a former member of the Ilion Moose Lodge 1010.

Surviving family members include his wife, Marcia; his daughter, Vicki (Coffin) Judd; his grandchildren, Ava, Deacon, and Reese Judd; his sisters, Helen Butt, Alice Gottberg and Eric, and Dorothy Palazzo and her husband, James; his brothers, David Coffin and companion, Pat, and Sherwood Coffin; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and his Godparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gonyea.

He was predeceased by his son, Roy “Skippy” Coffin; his sisters, Catherine Gonyea Coffin, Lynn Coffin, and Barbara Gray; his brother, Robert Coffin; and his parents.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home’s larger location, at 4309 Acme Road, Ilion (between Ilion and Frankfort).

Roy’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the Church of the Annunciation, by Pastor Paul Catena. Burial will be at Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion.

Roy’s wife, Marcia and her family would like to thank the Albany Medical Center Intensive Care Unit for their expert care and compassion in taking care of Roy.
