EAST HERKIMER - Mr. Ross Robert "Bob" Richard, age 74, a lifelong Herkimer resident, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning March 3rd, 2015 at the home of his sister Patsy in the town of Litchfield.
He was born on July 17, 1940 in Herkimer, NY, a son of the late Ross E. & Mary B. (Kowalski) Richard. He was a graduate of Herkimer High School, 'Class of 1958.' Bob last worked with the town of Herkimer Highway Department as a heavy equipment operator. He was of the catholic faith and at one time was a member of the East Herkimer Fire Department as well as the East Herkimer Fish and Game Club.
He is survived by his brother, John A. Richard and his wife Jean (Natarelli) of East Herkimer and their children John, Ross, Jason and Cheryl, his sister, Patricia R. Weeden and her husband Christopher, Sr. of Clayville and their children, Christopher, Jr., Kimberly and Nikkilyn, and cousins survive. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Charles Ross Richard and a sister - in - law, Betty Jane Sosnoski. The family extends a special thank you to Louie Natarelli, Mike Walz, David Dolly, Leon Everson and Liz from the diner for all they have done.
His funeral arrangements are with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street in Herkimer, NY. Funeral Directors Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea (315) 866-1011. A private family service will be held on Saturday March 7, 2015 at the funeral home with Seminarian Francis Vivacqua officiating.
