LITTLE FALLS – Mrs. Rosemary E. (Maxwell) Perrino, age 88, a lifelong Mohawk Valley resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, January 1, 2025, at Little Falls Hospital.
Born in the town of Newport on August 19, 1936, Rosemary was one of ten children to the late Dennis and Doris (Morey) Maxwell. She was raised on her family farm and educated in the West Canada Valley school system.
On November 25, 1954, Rosemary was wed to Mr. Domenick L. Perrino and together they shared in a blessed union of almost sixty-five years until Domenick’s passing on February 2, 2019.
Throughout the years, Rosemary and Domenick worked hard to support their growing family. During the week they operated their business, Modern Cleaners, on Garden Street in Little Falls. On the weekends they would work alongside their family at Cherry’s Restaurant in Herkimer. Somehow, they also found the time to raise five children and Rosemary was a devoted wife and mother. In her later years, she enjoyed the roles of grandmother and great-grandmother and was very proud of the family that she created.
These last years, as Rosemary’s age took a toll on her health, she had both good days and bad, but was forever comforted by the love that surrounded her. She cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also held a strong faith and was a longtime member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehova’s Witnesses in Dolgeville.
Survivors include her five children, Domenick Perrino and his wife, Kaz, of Las Vegas, James Perrino of Little Falls, Debbie Rotzler and her husband, Gary, of Utica, Mary Waufle of Little Falls and Rose Kuehn of Little Falls; her grandchildren, Pam, Dom, Jr., Paula, Brent and Brian; and her great-grandchildren, Lily and Zoey.
She also leaves behind her siblings, Robert (Eva) Maxwell, Margaret Nashton, Ruth (Walter) Ruszala, Veronica (Robert) Clifford and Ann Baker; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family, too numerous to mention.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband and siblings, Edward Maxwell, William Maxwell, James Maxwell and Catherine Sweet.
A graveside service will take place on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 10:00AM at St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Herkimer, where Rosemary will be laid to rest with her husband, Domenick.
Final wishes were pre-arranged and entrusted to the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street, Little Falls, NY (315) 823-2424, Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate funeral directors. Online notes of sympathy may be left at
