Ms. Rose L. Grau, age 92, formerly of Dolgeville, NY passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, at Foltsbrook Center in Herkimer, NY.

Rose was born on December 29, 1933, in Dolgeville, NY to the late Lyle and Esther (Patterson) LeClair. She graduated from Dolgeville School District in 1951. At one time, Rose was married to Zane Cramer, Sr., who passed away in 1966. She then went on to marry her second husband Edmund Grau, who passed in 1996. Rose worked as an administrative assistant at Fleet Bank in Dolgeville for 27 years.

She spent many years dedicated to serving her local community. Rose actively volunteered for many organizations. She could often be found at the Dolgeville Library where she volunteered for over ten years, the Dolgeville Food Pantry, as well as the Little Falls Hospital in the coffee shop and gift shop. Rose was dedicated to her Catholic faith; she attended St. Josephs Church for many years.

She is survived by her son, Zane Cramer, Jr., and his partner Pamela Maida, her daughter, Barbara Morrell and her husband John, her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Cramer, 9 grandchildren, as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Besides her parents and both her first and second husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Robert Cramer and Richard Grau, her daughter, Joyce Stockhauser, her grandson, Ryan Cramer, and her sister Marge Loucks.

In keeping with Rose’s wishes, there will be no public services. Rose will be laid to rest privately, at St. Mary’s Cemetery next to her husband Edmund. Those who may wish to honor Rose’s life of giving back to her community, may consider a donation to the St. Josephs Church in Dolgeville, NY in her memory by mail to 31 N Helmer Ave, Dolgeville, NY, United States, 13329. Her family asks that you may also consider a donation to the local food pantry or the American Heart Association.
