ST. JOHNSVILLE – Rodney David Hart peacefully passed away unexpectedly on August 28, 2018 at the comfortable atmosphere of his home in the Town of Ephratah with his loving and devoted wife Nade’ at his side. He was also blessed with the surrounding of his beloved family. He spent his most cherished times with his family. He was 56.

He was born on November 5, 1961 in Little Falls, NY a son of the late David P. and Arlene L. (Herringshaw) Hart and was educated in St. Johnsville schools. His marriage to his sweetheart Nade’ M. Capece took place May 14, 1983 in St. Johnsville. He was currently employed with Hart’s paving. He was an avid hunter and just loved anything having to do with the outdoors. He excelled in trapping and shared a very special bond with his nephew Wesley when trapping. He also just loved to go turkey hunting with his niece “Frogger.”

He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Nade’; his son, Colin R. Hart and companion Rebecca Roswell, of Oppenheim; and Colin’s son, David Victor Hart; Rebecca’s daughter, Keonie Lamphere and the couple’s daughter Maxine Hart; his mother – in – law and father – in – law, Esther and Victor Capece of St. Johnsville; his sister and brother – in – law, Arlene Broat and her husband Gregory, of Oppenheim; and their children, Wesley and Jessica Broat; his brother and sister – in - law, Timothy Hart and wife Cindy, of Oppenheim; and Cindy’s children, Amanda Rawson, Breanna Handy, and Forest Dunn; his brother – in – law and sister – in – law, Butch Capece and wife Glenna, of St. Johnsville and Butch's daughter Amber Sellers; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. He was predeceased by his parents David & Arlene; and his beloved son Raymond David Hart.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday September 2, 2018 at 1:00 PM from The Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street in St. Johnsville , NY with Rev. Martin Glynn officiating. Burial will be in Michael Cemetery , Town of Ephratah , where a graveside service will be held. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Sunday prior to the service from 11AM until 1:00PM. All memorial contributions may be made to the Ayers Animal Shelter or to the NRA. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

After Rod's son Raymond passed away, Rod and his wife, Nade’ started an ' Adopt A Highway ' program in Ray's memory which was so very important to them. The stretch of highway for trash pick-up encompassed an area from Oppenheim to Lassellsville. This was a great honor and a very special thank you is offered to all of the special friends who had helped along the way. Also, a special thank you to the first responders, the Sherriff's Department of Fulton County and the EMT's who fought so hard for Rod the evening he passed.
