Robin Lynn Hilts

BURLINGTON FLATS – Mrs. Robin Lynn (Bala) Hilts, age 63, of the Town of Exeter , passed away after a courageous battle, on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Bassett Healthcare, in Cooperstown , New York . Her husband, John W. Hilts, Sr., passed away March 30, 2018. They were married on October 23, 1975, a loving union of 42 years.

She was born in Ilion , NY , on November 25, 1955, a daughter of the late Jack Bala and Betty (Stockings) Powles. She was raised by Pete “The Indian.” Robin graduated from Richfield Springs Central School . The most important thing for Robin & John was spending time with their family. They just absolutely loved to be in the presence of their grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Jake Hilts and his wife, Janet, of Edmeston, NY, John Hilts, Jr. and his wife, Vickie, of Garrattsville, NY, Melissa Conkling and her husband, Jake, of Fairport, NY, Alicia Hilts, of Burlington Flats, NY and Angela Harrer, of Schuyler Lake; grandchildren, Brandon Hilts, Erica Hilts, Daniel Hilts, Wyatt Hilts, Ember Hilts, Cayden Greene, Miya Conkling, Stephanie Hilts, Andrew LaPorte, and Nicholas LaPorte. Her siblings Wendy & Lester Forte, and Shawn Fuller.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, May 31, 2019, from 5pm - 7pm, at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road ( Main Street ), Ilion , NY , (Town of Frankfort ). A funeral prayer service will be held after the calling hours at the funeral home, at 7pm, with Pastor Sue Holland, officiating.  Interment will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at 1:30 pm in the afternoon, at the Oak Hill Cemetery , in Herkimer.
