On November 11, 1966, Robert was wed to the former Claudia A. Talaba and together they shared in fifty-six years of marriage. Claudia passed away on December 15, 2021 and a piece of Bob’s heart went with her that day. Their family takes comfort in knowing the two are once again reunited.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Lisa Simpkins of Ilion; his son, Robert Wieliczka and fiancé, Elizabeth Flecker, of Ilion; his beloved granddaughter, Samantha Steenburg and her husband, Thomas “TJ”; his sister, Sharon Plunkett and her husband, Don; his brother-in-law, Sam Talaba and his wife, Karen; a maternal uncle, Robert Heath and family; his cousin, Ed Mamrosch; and a close friend to both Bob and Claudia, Al Shibley.
He was predeceased by his parents, his beloved Claudia and his niece, Carrie Plunkett.
In keeping with Bob’s wishes there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on May 8, 2024 at 10:30AM at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Little Falls, where Bob’s earthly remains will be laid to rest beside his wife, Claudia.
