Robert C. Rowland

ILION – Robert C. “Bobby” Rowland, age 67, a lifelong Ilion resident, passed away unexpectedly on October 7, 2021, at the MVHS St. Luke’s Campus, with his loving family by his side.

Born on July 4, 1954, Robert was the son of the late Clifford H. and Margie J. (Houk) Rowland. He received his early education in Mt. Markham Schools before spending fourteen months at the Shriners Children’s Hospital in Springfield, MA; a place where he not only received excellent healthcare but an education as well.

For several years, Bobby was employed at the ARC Herkimer Sewing Center as an assembler of musical jewelry boxes. Throughout the years, he has been a happy resident of several of the area ARC residences; especially his latest home on Brook Street in Ilion where he truly loved living. He was known for his love of doing crafts, singing and his vast knowledge of his heritage and extended family members.

Bobby was the most beloved uncle and had a huge part in the upbringing of his five nieces, Debbie, Cindy, Susan, Lori and Bonnie, who were truly his pride and joy. He leaves behind his nieces and their families as well as his beloved sister, Cathy Latt.

Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Clifford, Louis and James.

Bobby’s earthly remains will be laid to rest with his parents in Litchfield Cemetery in the spring of 2022 at the convenience of his family.
