Robert P. "Rob" Ganzmann, Jr.

HERKIMER – Mr. Robert P. "Rob" Ganzmann, Jr., age 77, a lifelong resident of the Mohawk Valley, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, July 16, 2017, in the privacy and comfort of his home. Born on May 2, 1940, Robert was the son of the late Robert Sr. and Pauline (Decker) Ganzmann. He grew up on a farm in Ilion and attended local schools. At one time he worked as a custodian for Univac, and for many years has been a client with the ARC in Herkimer, enjoying day programs and making many friendships with his caregivers and housemates. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Gailyn and Walter Dyn of Richfield Springs; his brother, Bernard Ganzmann of Cedarville; his nieces and nephews, Edward Scouten, Susan Coulter, Pamela Gohde, Shelley Dyn, Deonna Fagan, Trisha Dyn, Pauline Ganzmann and Erica Jensen; as well as several great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Roberta Scouten, and his sister-in-law, Genie Ganzmann. Robert's family will be celebrating his life at a graveside service, which will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 11:30AM at Armory Hill Cemetery in Ilion, where Robert will be laid to rest with his parents.
