Rita Johns, 77, of Lakeland, FL and formerly of Little Falls, passed away peacefully, Friday August 9, 2013, at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Lakeland, FL, following complications from a stroke.
She was born on October 27, 1935, in New York City, the daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth DiSimone Bright. Rita graduated from New York City schools. For many years, she worked as a nurse's aid for Van Allen Nursing Home, Little Falls.
Rita is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald M. and Stephanie Johns of Mableton, GA; her grandchildren, Michael and his wife, Tricia, Heather, Stephanie, Keith and wife Courtney, Kristen Kraemer and husband Justin; her great grandchildren, Aliyah, Lacey and Keeley; her sister, Marie DiSimone and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Carolyn; her son, Edward and her sister, Agnes Flatley.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls. Rita's graveside service will commence at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2013, in the Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls.
