ILION – Richard “Dick” W. Bibik, age 68, of Charles St., Ilion, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017 after a long illness.
He was born on August 3, 1948 in Richfield Springs, the son of Edward and Agnes (Szeliga) Bibik, and attended Richfield Springs schools. Mr. Bibik was a veteran of Vietnam serving in the US Navy. Dick was a bartender at Crossway’s Tavern, Ilion, for many years, working for Alice Crossway and later, for Jimmy Crossway. He was a member of the Mohawk American Legion, and was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving family members include his sons, Richard “Rich” J. Bibik and his wife, Dawn, of Patchogue, NY, and William Bibik, of Palantine Bridge, NY; his grandchildren, Anthony, Ashley and Brendan Bibik, and Martina and Harmony; his great-grandson, Anthony; special granddaughter, Makenna Burr; his life partner, Beth Fallon, with whom he lived; two brothers, David Bibik, of VA, and Robert Bibik and his wife, Cheryl, of FL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dick’s Celebration of Life and American Legion Honors Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 5, 2017, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home’s original location at 102 West St., Ilion, NY.
Calling hours are Sunday, March 5, 2017, from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home prior to the service.
